Registration for our 2026 summer school is now open. And for this year, thanks to funding from The University of Manchester, we are offering an ‘early bird’ registration which is 50% off!

This discount means that for the full three-day registration, individuals*
will pay £150 (£300 in 2023, 24 and 25).
*Business registration £800

After three successful events between 2023 and 2025, the ELLIS Society has approved our fourth summer school on Machine Learning for Healthcare and Biology. As in previous years, this three-day event will bring participants up-to-speed on the latest methods and technologies in machine learning with a focus on healthcare and biology. Participants will also have an opportunity to showcase their work at our research poster session.

*Attendees are expected to have some foundational knowledge/experience of machine learning and experience of coding.*

We are currently approaching speakers and will start to add further details as soon as we have them. To get a sense of the kinds of sessions we will have, please have a look over our recordings from previous years.

ELLIS Manchester Summer School Scholarship - currently closed to new applications

ELLIS Manchester is committed to fostering diversity and inclusivity in research and acknowledges
the financial challenges faced by researchers from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
To address this issue, we are able to offer “ELLIS Manchester Scholarships”, aimed at providing financial assistance to applicants from a minority group facing economic hardships during their research pursuits.

This scholarship means that successful candidates can receive funding from The University of Manchester to cover the registration fee and accommodation for the 2026 summer school. Please note: you will need to cover other costs including travel, visas etc from other funds. The scholarship is a first-come first-served basis and will be provided on merit following review by the summer school organisers. Full details can be found here

Please note: at the moment, all funding has been allocated and we will not be able to respond to new enquiries.
If any should come available this page will be updated.
